Tax Planning and Tax Preparation

Tax Planning is an integral part of the tax services provided to my clients.  Many CPA's and tax preparers do not look beyond the fiscal year and only meet with clients during the Spring tax filing season, often too late to do any planning.

The tax planning helps legally minimize the clients' tax burden while also giving peace of mind to the client knowing what the tax liability will be, which will help in their cashflow planning.  It will also make preparation time easier and less stressful for everyone.

Income Tax Preparation is the final part of the tax work provided.  Filings for individual, partnership and corporate tax returns are provided with the required state income tax returns.

Individual Taxes

Preparing your personal federal tax returns as well as income tax returns for the 43 states that have a personal income tax.

These returns include returns for sole-propriators, single member LLC's, rental properties, and farms.  If you qualify for a tax credit or deduction, we will identify it and apply it on your return.

We run "What if" scenarios to ensure you have the most appropriate filing status.

Help with your estimated tax liability, as well as any other deadlines for pre-payment.

Business Taxes

Provide LLC (form 1065), S-Corporation (form 1120S), and Regular Corporate (form 1120) tax returns for companies in the United States.

Having the right legal entity can greatly influence your federal and state tax liability. Ensuring the correct entity is selected is vital in the tax trastment process.

Some business returns are reported on the individual tax return, and a conversation about the pros and cons of these different routes can be highly effective in minimizing liability.  As with the individual returns, we will legally minimize your tax liability with available credits for your business and industry.

We also work on trust tax returns.

Taxes for Expats

All US Citizens and certain Green Card holders have to file an annual tax return with the IRS, even if they don't work for an US company or spend any time in the US.

There are additional forms that need to be filed as well as certain reporting requirements that add to the complexity.

I have clients in China, Argentina, Switzerland and Germany as well as other countries, who all have different, and unique, filing requirements.

Anyone who has a financial account outside the US has potential reporting requirements, no matter where they live.

Patrick Peterhans, the firm’s owner, has passed a rigorous exam with the IRS and holds the Enrolled Agent certification.

Continued Education required by the IRS ensures that Patrick is always up to date with the ever changing laws and regulations.

"Patrick Peterhans is an integral part of my business’ financial performance. I started working with Patrick more than 6 years ago first as a fractional CFO for my start-up consultancy. Patrick has assisted and helped me guide my business in all aspects of financial planning, fiscal performance, cashflow management and tax advisory.

His expert advise and strategic planning has helped me steer out of a trying tax situation and helped return the business to prosperous health. I highly recommend Patrick as a key partner for business success".
